January 2026 Call Activity Summary

During the month, the department responded to 38 total incidents, generating 72 individual responses by department apparatus. On average, 8 firefighters and EMTs responded per call, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, scene safety, and continuity of care.


The department’s average turnout time for January was 1 minute and 6 seconds, reflecting the continued emphasis on readiness, staffing availability, and rapid response.


Medical emergencies accounted for the majority of January’s call volume, with 31 medical-related incidents. These included breathing problems, chest pain, seizures, falls, general illness, and diabetic emergencies.


The department responded to 1 working fire in the Town of Sandisfield during the month. Due to timely response and coordinated fireground operations, an estimated $566,200 in property was saved.


During January, the Sandisfield Fire Department welcomed five new members, further strengthening the department’s operational and clinical capabilities. These additions include:

  • One Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

  • One Paramedic

  • One Firefighter I

  • One Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

  • One Firefighter II / EMT
