First Due Porch Fire with Extension – Cronk Road

Members responded to Cronk Road for a reported porch fire. Car 26, Engine 26, and Squad 26 responded with 12 members, arriving on scene in approximately 6 minutes.

Car 26 established command and completed a 360° size-up, finding the porch steps on fire with extension to the siding and into the house. Crews quickly stretched a 1¾” handline and knocked down the main body of fire. Members then worked diligently to open up and contain the extension, preventing further spread.

An auto-aid tanker from Riverton also responded to assist on the incident. Sandisfield members operated on scene for approximately one hour before returning to service.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Sandisfield Fire Department and has not yet been determined.
